A very warm welcome to John Betts Primary School website designed to give you a taste of our school and its community.
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of such an exciting, innovative and thriving school situated in the heart of West London.
As a school we aim to prepare children not just for tomorrow but for every tomorrow throughout their life. We work to instil life skills that will set them up for secondary school and beyond. The children’s first day at school is as important as their last day and we ensure that the foundation to their learning is set from the minute they walk through the school gates.
Well-being and achievement go hand in hand and a key priority for us as a school is that every child is happy both in and out of the classroom. We strongly believe that if a child is not happy they will not thrive academically or socially. We work closely with parents to ensure that every individual’s needs are being met and that every child is confident and has a positive self-esteem, as this impacts both their learning outcomes and their relationships.
Our enthusiastic, professional and dedicated teaching team ensure that every child develops into an exceptional individual with a love for learning and the capacity to reach academic excellence. Lessons are planned to meet all individuals needs and are designed to capture the children’s interest. They also provide opportunities to take calculated risks and to attempt challenges pupils never imagined they would. Our curriculum is broad and encapsulates skills that children require now as well as skills that will prepare them for the future.
To enhance the children’s education we have a vast array of extra-curricular activities ranging from music theory, chess and art through to yoga and Kung Fu. We encourage children to realise their talents and excel in these areas as we believe this will have a positive impact in their day to day academic progress.
When children leave John Betts, not only have they reached their academic potential but they are also individuals with a true sense of being a responsible citizen in society. They have resilience and courage which allows them to attempt things that are seemingly out of their reach and they have the perseverance to keep trying when things don’t go their way. They have integrity in abundance, are reliable, honest and trustworthy members of our community and above all they are exceptionally kind.
