We advise parents to start considering their child’s secondary school in Year Five and invite them to attend a transfer meeting at the beginning of this academic year. We follow this up with a meeting at the beginning of Year Six. Parents are invited to meet with the Headteacher at any stage during this process to discuss their child’s options.
It is important that you choose a school that suits your individual child. We encourage you to visit as many as you wish so you can establish which school you think is going to provide the best opportunities for your child. Following this we advise that you select a small number to take your child to so that they can make choices without being too overwhelmed.
Parent can find full information on how to apply, as well as information in other languages, on the LBHF website.
