STEAM Week
STEAM week is an annual event at John Betts which encourages the children to think about how the sciences, technology, engineering, arts and maths relate to our everyday lives – whilst having fun.
This is our opportunity to focus on making science creative and to raise its profile, by exploring ideas and investigating scientific concepts.
Throughout the week children take part in a range of workshops which have included: forensic science, science dome, coding and upcycling. In addition, every class ventures out on an exciting trip, linked to an aspect of STEAM. In the past these have included: the postal museum, the science museum and the glasshouses at Ravenscourt Park.
It is a highlight of the school year and the children are fascinated from start to finish and talk about it for weeks!
