Trips

At John Betts we aim for children from Year One up to experience an external learning experience each half term. The trip will either be a visit to an art gallery or a place of worship, or be linked to their learning. For example, Year One experience a real adventure and when learning about castles they venture to one of the more famous castles in the UK – Windsor, while in Year 4, Henry VIII and the Tudors are brought to life with a visit to Hampton Court. We take full of advantage of our fantastic location and travel all over and outside of London to ensure children are provided with the most inspiring opportunities possible. Children have visited the favourites including the Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum, as well as the Saatchi gallery and the Design Museum. Our annual whole school trip to Kew Gardens in the Summer Term is a particular highlight for everyone.

In addition to these exciting day trips; two year groups experience extended residential trips. During the Autumn term Year Three venture off to Woodrow High House for two nights where they enjoy a range outdoor and adventure activities as well as opportunities to develop their team building skills. Year Six culminate their last year at school with a truly exciting week of adventurous activity at PGL. Throughout the year the children participate in a range of fundraising events to help fund the trip as well as developing their financial awareness.
